While every fire company in neighboring Salem County, along with a dozen stations
from Gloucester County, a dozen stations from Cumberland County and about half a
Dozen stations from each Camden County and New Castle County (Delaware) battled a
monster fire at Del Val Industrial Tire on Broadway in Pennsville Township, Upper
Deerfield Volunteer Fire Company #3 provided cover for 4 hours to Salem County's
Lower Alloways Creek Station 18-1 (a half-hour drive from Upper Deerfield Township),
along with other Cumberland County units from Gouldtown (Sta 15) and Mauricetown
(Sta 12). While we're sorry we didn't get called into the scene to assist with such a rare
fire situation, we were happy to help out and aid our neighbors.
